Data reading

A unique tool for saving energy in apartment buildings: residents see on which days, and how much, heat and water they have used.

Data reading gives apartment owners and tenants a clear picture of their own energy use — on which days, and how much, was consumed. Once they understand their consumption, residents can change their habits and directly influence their monthly bill for water and heat.

How does it work?

All of the work — managing the radio network, organising, collecting, transmitting and storing the data — is done by ISTA. The process is called “Symphonic”. Thanks to it, our customers do not need to train staff, buy special software, hardware or servers, or pay any extra costs for collecting and processing data. Getting the data for any building is as easy as opening an ordinary website.

Data from every building and every meter goes to an ISTA data server, maintained in Germany by a dedicated ISTA team. Data security on this server is far higher than on personal computers or ordinary websites.

The consumption data includes the number of apartments, the address, the meter type, each meter’s reading every day at 00:00, and information on the meter’s condition (for example, if someone has tried to tamper with it).

Our customers receive the consumption data in the ISTA web portal with their own password. The data is available anywhere there is a computer with an internet connection.

No special software is needed — an ordinary web browser and MS Excel (or similar) are enough. The data comes as an Excel file that can be used for accounting.
